Terrace furniture
Guide to the choice of the colors

Whether it's a small balcony or a large terrace, furnishing an outdoor area can be difficult, but with a few simple ideas you can create a comfortable and cozy space, able to fully repay us of the initial effort. When choosing outdoor furniture, in addition to materials, pay attention to the choice of colors, the first element that attracts the eye of the guest and that influences our moods. So here's a color guide for terrace furniture.

Neutral and natural colors
Current outdoor décor trends are increasingly focusing on creating an environment that recalls a healthy and joyful lifestyle, in the name of relax and comfort. The spaces are functional and minimize maintenance efforts, with practical solutions designed to organize tools and accessories, or the bulkier materials. For this reason, you can opt for design solutions such as benches and structures in natural wood, wicker or iron, combined with light fabrics with natural shades such as white, beige or gray, colors that can bring out the rusticity of the furnishings.

Pastel colors are back
If neutral colors are not for you, or you want to add notes of color around, pastel colors are also back in vogue: all the shades of blue, powder blue, lavender and sage green. We can therefore choose to provide sofas and armchairs of soft cushions or knitwear blankets on these colors, or fill the terrace with vases painted in these shades. Light curtains can be another solution to add color, always trying to avoid too bright colors, respecting the idea of creating a relaxing space.

Monochrome for the walls
If you want to repaint the walls, the advice is always to keep on the white, ideal background for any furniture and adaptable to the changes. In some cases, however, colors on the wall would be: so better to opt for colors not too much strong and monochrome, to avoid the “eyesore” effect and create an open space, taking into account that dark colors give the impression of a smaller space.

Color of the Year

2021 will feature navy blue, gray and neutral colors. The gray above all will be the color that will characterize the trendy décor in the coming year. To be declined in all its shades and to be combined with a navy blue for a living room, a terrace and for the curtains and the textile in bathrooms and kitchens. Even our colorful tables can range from shades of gray, like our Colorado table, to more intense colors.

2020 is the year of the classic blue, its soft shade also allows us to play on the total blue or to combine it with classic colors such as cream or white. The combinations of various shades, from the darkest to the lightest, are very chic for drapes. For an all the rage and very classy terrace (and with the knowledge that it will never fade), Grandi Maioliche Ficola proposes the Decoro Uccellini Blu table, perfect to be placed under a gazebo with cream drapes, combined perhaps with a wicker lounge with oversized blue/cream cushions to match the colors of the table.

2019 is the year of coral red, so if you want a really fashionable terrace, this is the shade to match the natural colors of wood. Choose a few accessories of this color, such as cushions or small furnishing accessories, that make the best highlight, giving a note of warmth to the environment. On this tone, for those who want to dare, we recommend the glazed lava stone table Red Parker design, in the modern line by Grandi Maioliche Ficola, along with wrought iron chairs and combined with more neutral furniture pieces, for a contrast able to enhance both.
